- Innocent Damage by Danse Macabre [Excerpt] - In the aftermath of losing Lisa, Ianto uses retcon to erase his entire life, leaving Jack and the rest of the team to pick up the pieces. The story starts directly after 'Cyberwoman' and moves on through Series One into the 'Year That Never Was' and into Series Two. With a few twists and turns along the way.
So I normally can't read fics where a character is like how Ianto is in this. It's just...too mindfuckery on my part, especially after a Harry Potter fic I read that had a similar case that kind of squicked me. But! I read this one straight through. At first it was just because the idea of Ianto retconning himself was interesting, despite thinking he's not the type to do it. Then when it seemed there was a real reason for him doing it...well, I was captured. There's been a burning question in my mind through this whole thing; will Ianto ever remember? And how traumatic is that going to be for all parties involved? But surprisingly, those questions are in the back of my mind, because this story has plenty of stuff to keep you interested in the meantime. I do, however, feel I have to mention that the grammar could use some improving, and there are times when facts are repeated - it can get kind of repetitive at times. *snicker* I loved the stalling! Seriously, it was like foreplay. This line cracked me up so bad: “Oh, wow! You have got to be… Oh. Wow.” Jack was backpedaling fast now. “Well, that ex-… I mean, no wonder…” *lol* Jack. And...god, the sex was hot. *_* (Jack/Ianto) (NC-17) (Sequel to Waiting)

This is amazing. I was just going to look for some Jack/Ianto, but instead I found a gem! And it even has a couple pairings I'm not into, but I feel I'll be able to look over them (or *shock* even enjoy them) because the story is so amazingly good, the characters are IC and I absolutely love the backstory it's giving. Seriously, it could so be canon, it reads like it. It's actually making me like the characters even more, if possible. (Jack/Ianto, Owen/Tosh, Gwen/Rhys, past Ianto/Lisa and Andy/Gwen, other) (PG-13)
