There are moments in your life when you hit rock bottom, this? This is definitely Jared's rock bottom. So everything can only go up from here right? Somehow the Elvis impersonator, pyromaniac, harbinger of doom, and that one guy who looks like he could kill you with his pinkie doesn't seem very reassuring. And then... there's Jensen.
I've read a few psychiatric fics before but this one definitely goes on top of the list. The way the characters are written is so well done! I loved especially how Jared's issue is dealt with, it strikes me as true to life. I really liked reading about Jared helping Jensen, so well handled and made the ending all the better. The side-characters were tons of fun too! My only problem was that there wasn't an epilogue! I really wanted to see how they all ended up. OMG, this is totally awesome! The whole set-up is just so well done. The author claims they were on crack when they wrote this, but it must have been the really good kind of crack because...wow. I really like how the 'plot' was/is done. It's well executed! I felt really close to Jensen, I guess because my temper is exactly like his. I tend to try to hide it but sometimes it just gets out. I also like how he reacts to Jared, it's exactly what I'd do and I think it's normal to want to deny that there's going to be a real relationship when you've been hurt like Jensen was. While I feel strongly for Jensen and his situation here, I can also allow myself to see Jared's POV, and I root him on because the only way Jensen's going to be able to move on is if he sees that he can have this thing with Jared without breaking. Besides all that, I do have to say the grammar could be improved, and there's some awkward wording/sentences that needs working on. (Jared/Jensen) (R, deals with some sensitive topics)

Quite an interesting idea! I mean, I've read one where Jared was mentally challenged, and one where Jensen was deaf, so I guess it makes sense that I find and add a deaf Jared to the list. :) Jared's story is definitely a sad one. I got really angry at the Singers and even the good guys, because just because Jared is deaf does in no way mean he's not just as smart, just as deserving of life as anyone else. Now, as for the story. I do think things were a bit rushed relationship wise. I liked them as friends, and would have liked to see it develop into love a little slower. Also, the grammar here and there could be improved. I love that Jensen learned sign language with Jared, and that Jensen was willing to give up bits of his life to try and pay for the operation to hopefully get Jared to hear again. The ending was definitely the most touching part. Those two are so sweet together! ♥ I liked the plot bits, everything fit together in just the ways they needed to make things happen. Seeing the wolf as a monster, a danger to everyone, and not wanting to infect anyone else, he moved to an isolated cabin and three days out of the lunar month locks himself away. Jensen is afraid of what happens when the wolf gets out, but what if getting out is what they really need?
Oh, I adore this idea! I've always liked werewolves, and even just wolf stories and imagery, but more-so lately. This fic totally presses all the right buttons. ♥ I'm loving the description in this about the changing, and the way the werewolves act and interact. I loved reading about Jensen and his inner werewolf, but it's not until Jared shows up that you get a different picture of life as a werewolf (for three days out of a month), and it makes Jensen's story even more interesting because of the contrast. I really can't wait to read Jensen and Jared (and their wolves) interacting more! Also, I love Jensen's relationship with his cat, Athena. *grin* Lastly, the illusts throughout the fic (and the images in the master post) are all so very gorgeous! Just, wow, color me impressed. It was in moments like this that Jensen knew that they would be together forever. Nothing would or could break them apart. Jensen was wrong. At 19 he was in love with Jared, full of plans and hopes for their future. He didn’t count on dropping out of college and driving Jared away with cheating and drinking being part of them. At 30 Jensen wakes up with retrograde amnesia, his last memories of being 19 and happy. As he struggles to regain his memory and find out who he is, Jensen has to face the harsh truths of who he became and how he treated Jared. Determined not to make the same mistakes again, Jensen starts to get his life back on track and try to win an engaged and angry Jared back.
This is a shining example of amnesia fic. Gods, I can't get enough of it no matter how cliche! I love that Jensen was a total jackass before. I love how real it seemed, that Jensen and Jared's relationship fell apart the way it did. It was really bad, of course, totally angsty, but it more than made up for it that amnesiac Jensen realized how awful he was before and wanted to change it. I also loved Jared. Totally angry and different after ten years, but still, well, Jared. Still Jensen's best friend down in there somewhere. I loved the build-up of everything as well. Danneel and Chris were amazing in this this! I thought the way the author did the Chris thing was impressive, and Danneel was a godsend to Jensen. I loved the ending chapters, even though I was worried that there wouldn't be a conclusive ending! I like that Jensen made a new life for himself with new friends. It's just what he needed before he could be in a relationship again. (Jared/Jensen, Jared/Sandy, past Jensen/Danneel, mentioned other) (NC-17)

Love this story! Such an interesting idea - makes me wonder if there are any other fics out there with same or similar ideas. I love Jensen and Jared's interaction in this, it's so cute and amusing. <3 I liked the way the author handled the whole being filmed thing, and Sam's confession to Allison. The ending was lovely and had me smiling like a loon. ♥♥♥ (Jared/Jensen, bachelors/Allison Mack) (PG-13)

Jared is an amateur pianist who unexpectedly begins to regain his confidence from his teacher’s cousin.
This is one of those rare stories that eats away at you when you have to go to bed instead of reading more of it. It's the type of story that makes you never want to leave it, that makes you so thankful that you can read, that you have access to the internet, that people out there create and share these works. These stories are what makes fandom so worth it. This story has exquisite detail in general - the families, the locations, their lives. That Jared plays the piano makes me happy because I do as well, and share his love for it. The characters feel so real and touchable. One thing I really enjoy is how well written Jensen's deafness is! I love how he has languages all of his own, and how Jared interprets it - and how Jensen perceives Jared to interpret it. I literally hold my breath at times because of the moments between them, or tear up, or just sit their in awe. That's my absolute favorite part of this fic - their relationship. It reminds me of The Fool card in tarot. They're both standing on the edge of the cliff to an uncertain future that they both want, but their uncertainties and fears (not to mention family) hold them back. However, together, they just might be able to find the courage to leap. (Jensen/Jared) (R overall so far)

It's good that I don't read these types of stories often - it makes them that much more awesome for the times that I do! I've read a Supernatural fic (Vegas) equivalent to this one, so now my life is complete. XD I really enjoyed reading the porn scenes (now that is porn!) and reading how Jensen and Jared interacted, being so different from each other. I've read this before, but had a sudden urge to reread it when one of the songs from the Soundtrack started playing on iTunes. Gods, this fic just...it makes me react so emotionally, I swear. I don't often read fics dealing with the subjects it deals with, but this one just pulled me in and made me feel a part of it even after I'd finished reading it! The author did so much research for this, and it's a masterpiece for it. (Jared/Jensen) (NC-17) (Deals with eating disorders, self-harm, religious themes and homophobia.)

I can't explain enough how frickin' happy this fic made me. Only after first making me briefly depressed, I mean. Jensen's POV is just so, so awesome and fun to read, and it had me on my toes the whole time wondering when the ball would drop. And when it did? So worth Jensen's emo and Jared's cluelessness. So worth it. ♥♥♥ (Jared/Jensen, Jared/Sandy) (NC-17)

I love long plotty fics, and this satisfied me so much! Like one commenter said, some authors tend to end the fic after the really good sex, but don't have a satisfying resolution to the problem. There were no issues with that in this fic, just perfectly wonderful and satisfying characterization, plot, setting - everything. This fic made me smile and laugh and be really happy with life even after I stopped reading. (Jared/Jensen, past Chad/Jared, other background pairings) (NC-17)

- Crushed In Cordova by Aynslee [Excerpt] - After losing his wife, Jensen’s determined to be a good father, even though he doesn’t ever plan on dating again. But once he meets Jared, everything changes.
I never thought that Jensen having a daughter would work so well. I love the idea of Jared wanting kids as well. The plot was really well chosen, and it was very believable. If you want to read something that will make your day, I'd pick this. The only thing close to a complaint that I have is the ending. It was happy and fine, but I just felt it could be fleshed out a little more. Maybe you'll get what I mean when you read it. (Jared/Jensen, past Jared/OFC and Jensen/OFC) (R)

This is... the loveliest AU ever. The idea is just so interesting! You just have to read the summary to know that. I especially like it because of why Jared liked it in the fic. It wasn't like dating where you had to get over awkwardness and try to get to know each other. These things weren't (much of) an issue for these two. I absolutely loved everything, but the ending was just delicious. (Jensen/Jared) (NC-17)

- Inconceriously by Monkiedude [Excerpt] - It starts when they meet. Jensen seems to have views on Sam's character, and even has stories about the things Sam has done (such as doing guys, and once, two girls at the same time). Its always Jensen who knows what he's talking about, and Jared is always interested - but he wants to finish the end of one of Jensen's raunchy tales himself.
Oh, very hot. There's only talking about sex, but its just... mm, perfect. I also think Jensen's views on Sam are very interesting, and when Jared chimes in at the end is my favorite part. (Jared/Jensen) (R)

- On Your Mark by Veronamay [Excerpt] - Fics like this have been done before. But none have ever been so perfect to me before now. Jared is a very believable assassin, and god, the imagine of Jensen in glasses is fucking hot. The sex scenes were nice and dirty, made all the better by all the sexual tension going on before they can finally have sex. I loved the OCs. They did their job and made me like them, but not feel bad if they got their brains shot out. It was definitely a change having Jared and Jensen's roles sort of reversed, but it worked beautifully. I was hooked and intrigued by the first segment. (Jared/Jensen) (NC-17)

At the end of the semester, a rush of college students come in, and Jared is one of them. Jensen has seen him before, but not said much to him... until Jared's buddies give him twenty bucks to tell Jensen something dirty.
Jensen in a bartender's uniform. *GUH* I knew it would be a good idea, and I was definitely right. The idea of Jared as a college student in the bar with Jensen as the bartender just really worked here. Plus, it was really hot when they went back to Jensen's apartment. I was a melted puddle of goo after reading the rimming part. ♥ Sequels here: Almost Midnight & and if this is the only thing I want. (Jensen/Jared) (NC-17)
