How far I am in the series: Didn't quite finish the anime and didn't read some of the end of the manga, but I was pretty much spoiled on everything.
What got me into this series: Can't remember, maybe I saw some people talking about it from my friend's list on LiveJournal. I started reading it when it was still being done by Orange Tangerine. I remember reading the 63 chapters they had all in one night, it was crazy. XD
